Hello, Again {love note}
Hello Beautiful Human,
I’ve missed you and I also didn’t. I went through a period in life where I needed to retreat, go inward, and tend to myself and family. Throughout the process I kept trying to return until finally, in 2018, I decided to stop.
Have you ever noticed that when you are trying to do it ‘all’ your energy is scattered. It’s hard, if not impossible, to be present and give you full heart and attention to everything. Especially in todays world which is on information overload, full of constant distractions and notifications, and the constant buzz of this, that and the other.
I had to walk away from work I once loved, that no longer filled me up. I was drained, depleted, and distracted. I lost my love for life. It was still there but would come and go. To be honest, it freaked me out a bit.
Some of this was due to the big life issues our family was working through. It’s a story I would love to share but involves more than me so I am choosing to honor all involved. I think many of you can relate. I can still be transparent and honor my beloveds.
I’m also 50 so there is perimenopause. I’m grateful for a husband that unconditionally loves me and has chosen to ride the rollercoaster with me. I often wonder if I’d be as patience if he had the mood swings I go through. Those have been infrequent as of late, thank you! I seriously wondered at one point who had inhabited my body.
Then last year, 2019, my husband and I both turned 50, celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, and became empty nesters. Talk about milestones and transitions! It was very much a pause for me as I tapped into what mattered most.
I wanted a slower simpler life with less stuff. I wanted a rhythm that fed my soul, new traditions for our physically separated family, and work that lit me up—like before.
I started…
- reading books like Digital Minimalism, Essentialism, Soulful Simplicity , and 24/6.
- clearing clutter and making donations monthly which created space in all my worlds… physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
- a new family tradition after reading The Family Letter.
- asking for what my heart craved around family instead of thinking and talking about it.
I returned to slowing down, which can be challenging, in a world that is constantly on. Sometimes it’s easy, other times it feels like a push/pull. I began doing Yoga Nidra, known as yogic sleep. I remembered how deeply important rest is. For me, it is as foundational for functioning and emotional well-being, as is food, water, air and shelter.
So, here I am. The now version of myself. Slowing down. Living with less. Writing more. Resting well. Being and becoming. A renewed love for life.
If this resonates, I look forward to connecting with you via love letters to…
- share links to resources I love.
- pause, ponder, and catch up.
- provide invitations and offerings around
- rest and renewal
- legacy and love letters
- honoring the beauty and gifts of life

Before I sign off, I can’t not address the pandemic. I’m riding the waves with you. Sometimes I get tossed by a big one, sometimes seen, other times unseen. Then there are times where the waters are still, peaceful, and calm.
Here is a prayer for us, and all beings…
May we meet ourselves where we are.
May we be honest and kind with ourself.
May we accept ourselves gently and tenderly.
May we be at ease.
May we be safe.
May we feel peace and love.
May we be well.

I love opening to a page for a daily message, a dose of remembering. Here’s the one I just opened to now… The best time to set your intentions for the day, connect with the Universe, and decide to be happy is the exact minute you wake up. But if that doesn’t happen, don’t stress out. There are 1,439 other best times of the day to do that exact thing. See… timing IS everything!
My (mostly) morning playlist. While it’s a mix of many types of music, you might stumble upon a song that lifts you up, opens your heart, or returns you to love.
